Gramps turned 90 this month. Did you hear me? NINETY. So, I thought that merited a cake. Hand formed fondant figure and number. Red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and chocolate ganache topping.
This is an adoption cake for a lovely family by the name of Sjolseth. They have a sweet tradition of singing "You are my Sjolseth" to the tune of "You are My Sunshine". They just finalized the adoption of two beautiful children into their already beautiful family.
Wedding shower cake that I did this weekend. Lovely setting. Edible fondant flowers and large scroll. Edible fondant ribbon. (Non-edible jeweled topper.)
This was for my sister-in-law's 30th Birthday. She is a professional calligrapher, and although I am not, I gave it my best attempt when writing the words! Edible feather, inkwell, and dogwood flowers are handcrafted from fondant.
Cake reads "Love" and "Faithfulness". When viewed from above, the second and third tiers look like the national flag of Japan. Handmade fondant orchids.
This cake was made to match the picture of the bride's dress. Austin Monthly Magazine featured this cake in an article about my cake company, Piece of Cake Bakery.
